LIVE STORAGE FOR PALLETS
FIFO (First In, First Out) Live Storage Pallet Racking: Perfect Stock Rotation and Space Efficiency
FIFO live storage pallet racking is a compact, high-density warehouse storage solution designed to optimise efficiency and ensure seamless stock rotation. Built with a robust structure and fitted with roller lanes on a downward incline, pallets automatically move from the loading side to the picking side, ready for retrieval. This gravity-fed system reduces handling times while increasing storage capacity and warehouse flow.
How FIFO Live Pallet Racking Works
In this system, pallets are loaded at the higher end of the racking and roll forward under controlled speed to the unloading side. The movement is regulated by braked rollers (either direct or indirect), ensuring smooth and safe pallet transfer. Depending on the warehouse requirements, roller beds can be configured as twin track or full-width rollers, with roller type and pitch selected based on the pallet size, weight, and quality.
FIFO Stock Rotation
As a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) storage system, live pallet racking ensures that the first pallet loaded is always the first one retrieved. This makes it ideal for industries where stock rotation is critical, such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and perishable goods. By maintaining strict FIFO flow, warehouses can reduce waste, improve product freshness, and maintain compliance with industry standards.
Accessories and Options
To further enhance safety and efficiency, FIFO live pallet racking can be fitted with accessories such as pallet separators, guide-ins, and tilting beds. These features help prevent pallet damage, guide forklift operators, aid cleaning, and improve ergonomics during unloading
Applications
FIFO live storage pallet racking is best suited to high-turnover warehouses, cold storage facilities, and distribution centres requiring efficient stock rotation. By combining high-density storage with reliable FIFO operation, this system delivers excellent warehouse optimisation and long-term cost savings.
