SHUTTLE RACKING
Implement efficient FIFO or LIFO stock rotation with semi-automated Shuttle Pallet Racking.
Shuttle racking combines the advantages of drive in racking, and pallet live storage. Semi automated battery operated shuttles are placed onto guide rails which lift and transport a pallet into and out of a racking structure. FIFO and LIFO operations can be accomplished.
How Shuttle Pallet Racking Works
In this system, pallets are loaded onto supporting racking rails. A separate shuttle is then placed under the pallet and at a press of a button the pallet is transported into the depth of the rack.
FIFO Stock Rotation
As a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) storage system, shuttle pallet racking ensures that the first pallet loaded is always the first one retrieved. This makes it ideal for industries where stock rotation is critical, such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and perishable goods.
The shuttle controls enables pallets to be automatically shuffled along the rack making FIFO (first in first out) possible.
By maintaining strict FIFO flow, warehouses can reduce waste, improve product freshness, and maintain compliance with industry standards.
Accessories and Options
To further enhance safety and efficiency, Shuttle racking is fitted with infra red sensors, pressure pads and stops. These features help prevent pallet damage and protect personnel.
Applications
Shuttle racking is best suited to high-turnover warehouses, cold storage facilities, and distribution centres requiring efficient stock rotation or high density storage. By combining high-density storage with reliable FIFO operation, this system delivers excellent warehouse optimisation and long-term cost savings.
